Much of what shapes us is not hidden because we do not want to know it. Often, it has become so familiar that we no longer recognise it as something remarkable.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy
Psychodynamic treatment aims to provide a clearer understanding of the unconscious psychological logic behind feelings, thoughts and sometimes self-destructive behaviours that can otherwise seem inexplicable.
Together, we explore what repeats itself: in relationships, expectations, anxiety or guilt, and in the way someone experiences themselves.
With a clearer understanding, the way you see yourself, others and your circumstances often changes. Usually, your capacity to cope with difficult situations also increases.
The conversation
I work psychoanalytically and psychodynamically. This means there is room to speak without a predetermined programme. What emerges in the conversation, and what becomes perceptible between two people, can be as important as what is already known.
For me, an interpretation is not an explanation imposed from outside. It should help you recover something of your own experience and become able to take ownership of it.
