Practical information

About registration, consultations, location, fees and reimbursement.

Registration

Treatment begins with an introductory consultation. We discuss what brings you, what you expect from psychotherapy and whether my way of working is right for you.

Consultations and location

The frequency and format of consultations are agreed together. Psychotherapy requires continuity; the concrete arrangements are discussed during the initial consultation.

Treatment is generally provided online, but appointments can also take place at the practice:

For patients who do not speak Dutch, the language used in therapy is English.

Fees for 2026

Since 2022, Dutch mental healthcare has used the healthcare performance model. Fees are set annually by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).

The 45-minute session fee for 2026 is €172.85. This includes record keeping and preparation in the interest of the session and your file.

The diagnostic fee, including for an intake, is €200.51 for 45 minutes. The practice charges according to the time reserved for you in the diary. If the consultation differs by more than 15 minutes, the fee is adjusted. Time spent on professional consultation or reports for third parties is also charged.

For patients with a non-Dutch health insurance policy, fees can be agreed by mutual arrangement.

Reimbursement

In 2026, the practice has contracts with ASR, Caresq, AEVITAE and Zorg en Zekerheid. They reimburse 100% of the healthcare costs. There are no contracts with other health insurers.

For non-contracted care, you pay the invoice to the practitioner and then submit it to your insurer. Reimbursement varies by insurer and policy; it is advisable to check this in advance.

To qualify for reimbursement, you need a referral from your GP and a DSM-5 diagnosis that is eligible for reimbursement. Some insurers require prior authorisation.

Complaints procedure

If you have a complaint about your treatment, I would appreciate it if you discussed it with me first. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the complaints procedure of my professional association, the NVP.
